Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate Injection 0.4%

Used in all domesticated species for inflammation caused by infection, allergies, trauma, or etiology. Shock and circulatory collapse. Ketosis in cattle.

COMPOSITION:
Each ml contains:
Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate…………...................................…4 mg
Excipients ad.………….......................................................…..........……1 ml

INDICATIONS:
Used in all domesticated species for inflammation caused by infection, allergies, trauma, or etiology. Shock and circulatory collapse. Ketosis in cattle. 

ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE:
Routes of administration: Intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous.
Cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses: 0.005 to 0.02ml of DEXABEL 4/kg of body weight in a single dose. 
Dogs: 0.0125 to 0.05 ml of DEXABEL 4/kg of body weight in a single dose.
Cats: 0.025 to 0.075 ml of DEXABEL 4/kg of body weight in a single dose.
Large animals: 0.5 to 2.5 ml of DEXABEL 4 at the application site.
Small animals: 0.125 to 1.25 ml of DEXABEL 4 at the application site.
Repeat the dose if necessary, at 48 hour intervals, for a maximum of 5 days.

SIDE EFFECTS:
A temporary drop in milk production in lactating animals. 
Polyuria, polydypsia and polyphagia.
The immunosuppressant action may weaken resistance to or exacerbate existing infections.
When used for induction of parturition in cattle, a high incidence of retained placentae and possible subsequent metritis and/or subfertility may be experienced.
Delayed wound healing.


CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not use this medicine in pregnant females. Its use in the first months of pregnancy can cause fetal malformations. In the last trimester of gestation it can cause abortion or premature delivery followed by dystocia, fetal death, retained placenta and metritis.
Milk production of lactating animals may temporarily decrease with dexamethasone administration.
Pay special attention when administered to immunocompromised animals.
Do not administer to animals with: bacterial diseases without concomitant antibiotic therapy, fungal or viral infections, renal and/or hepatic failure, congestive heart failure, osteoporosis and bone fractures, diabetes mellitus, ocular degenerative diseases or corneal ulcer, hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's disease), animals subjected to immunological treatment.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
For meat: 5 days. 
For milk: 3 days.

STORAGE:
Store below 30℃. Protect from light.
